Magic isn’t always a spell, a trick, or something mysterious happening behind a curtain. Sometimes, magic is much simpler. It’s the moment something ordinary suddenly feels extraordinary – and if you love coffee, you already know exactly what I mean.
The Magic of Melbourne

Melbourne is often called the coffee capital of Australia, and for good reason.
It’s where the café culture truly took root.
It’s where baristas experimented, perfected, and pushed boundaries.
It’s where the idea of coffee as a lifestyle – not just a drink – became part of everyday life.
The famous “Magic” coffee was born there: a double ristretto topped with silky steamed milk, served in a 5–6 oz cup. Stronger than a flat white, smoother than a latte, and loved by people who want flavour without bitterness.
In Melbourne, ordering a “Magic” feels normal. It’s part of the culture. Part of the identity. But here in Western Australia, things are a little different.
In WA, especially Perth, “Magic” isn’t as common.
You won’t see it on every menu.
Some cafés know it, some don’t.
Some baristas smile when you order it, others tilt their head and ask, “What’s that?” WA has its own style.
Magic feels different depending on where you are.
In Melbourne, it’s tradition.
If you’re in WA, sometimes the magic isn’t in the café… it’s in the moment you create it yourself!

Be right back, off to book flights to Melbourne !! Coffee is magic , I agree. Thanks for introducing me to this wee gem, ill be sure to try one in the near future ☕️
Magic or not, I need one more shot, please… please! I promise I’ll check into rehab tomorrow. Ahhh, I can feel the ‘C8H10N4O2’ running through my veins! 😁
I had never heard of a “Magic” coffee before, but now I definitely want to try one! The combination of a double ristretto and silky steamed milk sounds like the perfect balance—stronger than a flat white but still smooth. I’ll have to see whether any cafés in Perth know how to make it!
